This mahogany library was one of many rooms designed for this gracious residence. Due to mahogany's natural ability to oxidize and patina over time, this wood was chosen as a warmly compatible back drop for volumes of leather-bound books.

Rhythm and repetition are articulated throughout the room defined by iconic order pilasters bordering the bookcases.

A coffered ceiling, creating depth and dimension, holds an antique chandelier. A chair rail, which encircles the room, separates the bookcases above from the enclosed storage areas below.
